Divya Rayamajhi THE INIMITABLE

For as long as she can remember, Divya Rayamajhi always aspired to become an actor. As a child, she recalls creating small skits with her friends and family included. Daughter of a famed actor, Dilip Rayamajhi, at one point wanted to break away from his shadow and decided to move to America to study law. While there, she found the opportunity to take classes in theatre. She also attended Broadway and that simple reignited a spark that was simply lying latent. With newfound clarity, she switched her major from law to theatre and immersed herself into honing her skills.  With the Covid outbreak, she was unable to leave the United States due to global travel restrictions and she decided to enrol in a Master’s program in IT Project Management. She completed her degree, secured a valuable internship, and eventually landed a promising job in IT. But despite the success, she always found herself gravitating toward acting. When a compelling opportunity arose in Nepal, Divya made the life-changing decision to leave everything and return home. Today, she starts a new chapter with her debut film, Aktor, set to release in theatres, marking new beginnings and a new star on the horizon.

A quote you live by

It has to be the lines from my favourite musical, Hamilton. There’s this song called ‘Wait for it,’ and there’s this line that says. “I am the one thing in life I can control. I am inimitable. I am an original.” I live by that.
