European Union Ambassador to Nepal, Véronique Lorenzo, hosted an elegant fashion and pop-up showcase titled Threads of Joy at her residence in Kathmandu, celebrating cross-cultural creativity and heritage craftsmanship. The event highlighted the refined artistry of Nepal’s Himalayan chyangra pashmina alongside contemporary collections from Chula, a Spanish fashion brand known for collaborating with social enterprises in Vietnam to support inclusive employment opportunities. Guests witnessed pashmina ensembles crafted from handspun fibre sourced from high

Himalayan regions such as Mustang and Dolpa, demonstrating Nepal’s globally recognised textile legacy.
The showcase also featured products from Nepali enterprises and women-led social initiatives, reflecting a shared commitment to economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods. The European Union has actively supported Nepal’s pashmina value chain through the EU-Nepal Trade and Investment Programme, implemented with the International Trade Centre, strengthening supply chains, training artisans, and expanding international market access. The event reinforced growing collaboration between European and Nepali enterprises while celebrating craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange.
