Cosmetika 2025 marked a notable moment for Nepal’s beauty and wellness sector as the country’s first dedicated trade show for cosmetics, beauty and wellness concluded in Kathmandu. Held from December 27 to 29 at the Amrapali Banquet Center in Naxal, the three-day expo brought together brands, professionals and entrepreneurs seeking a more organised and visible platform for the industry. The event was organised by House of Rajkarnicar and WOW was the official magazine partner for the event.
The opening day set a measured and confident tone. With 33 stalls on display, the exhibition floor reflected the breadth of Nepal’s evolving beauty landscape, spanning skincare, haircare and wellness. Established names such as Akarshan Hair Clinic, Blue Sky Saloon, Homa, Enbio, True Derma and Klean X Beauty were among the participants, signalling a growing emphasis on credibility, product knowledge and locally relevant solutions rather than spectacle.
Cosmetika 2025 also functioned as a space for conversation and learning. A talk session titled Rethinking Skin Care for Nepal, led by Dr Bigyan Joshi and Nirum Basnet of Sampada Health Care, focused on the need to consider climate, lifestyle and specific skin concerns within the Nepali context. The discussion encouraged a move away from one size fits all global trends towards more informed and practical approaches.
A consultation session on hair, skin, makeup, and nail care was held on the second day, focusing on education pathways and international career opportunities in the beauty and personal care industry. Organised in collaboration with the International School of Aesthetics and Spa Beauty School, the session aimed to inform aspiring professionals about emerging trends, required skills, and global prospects in the sector.
Live demonstrations and product sampling sessions added an interactive layer to the event, allowing visitors to observe techniques and engage directly with brands. By the time the expo concluded, Cosmetika 2025 had served its primary purpose as a meeting ground for an industry in transition, reflecting a sector that is increasingly structured, self-aware and looking to define its own direction.
