On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Terapanth Mahila Mandal (TMM) Kathmandu organised a special programme on 7 March to celebrate the spirit, strength and contributions of women across different spheres of society. The event brought together community members, social workers and representatives from several organisations for an afternoon of recognition, reflection and meaningful dialogue.
The highlight of the programme was the felicitation of Miss Nepal World 2025 Luna Luitel and WOW Magazine Editor Ankita Jain. Also, Prem Devi Luniya was honoured with the “Prerna Samman” for being an inspiration to many.
TMM also felicitated representatives from various NGOs who have been actively contributing to social development and community service. Their work and commitment were acknowledged as powerful examples of leadership and positive impact

Speaking at the event, TMM Kathmandu President Sangeeta Bothra emphasised the importance of recognising women’s contributions in every sphere of life. “Women are the heart of everything and we welcome all the women and men who celebrate them,” she said, highlighting the role of collective support in building a more inclusive and empowered society.
Representatives from a number of organisations were also recognised for their valuable work in social service. These included Kamal Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Lions Club Udaan represented by Sarita Golcha, Lions Club Samarpit represented by Radha Bhati, Lions Club Umang represented by Anita, Maheshwari Mahila Mandal, Marwadi Mahila Manch, The Max Foundation represented by Shweta Agrawal, Ekal Vidyalaya represented by Sunita Agrawal, Jain Mahila Mandal represented by Prema Nahata, Himalaya Old Age Home, Apang Sarokar Kendra, Naveen Paropkar Samaj, Aapno Ghar Ashram, and the Principal of the Deaf and Dumb School Lekhnath Dahal.

By honouring leaders, storytellers and grassroots contributors, TMM Kathmandu reaffirmed its commitment to uplifting women and encouraging dialogue around equality, opportunity and social progress.
