Volleyball tournament to be held in Pokhara to mark Teej festival

KASKI: Nawa Aadarsha Community Development Society is going to organise a volleyball tournament along with the Teej festival celebrations in Pokhara, Kaski district.

The national-level women’s and men’s volleyball tournament will be held at the playground of Indrarajya Laxmi Secondary School in Lamachaur from September 16 to 18.

Four teams under the women’s category and five teams under the men’s category will participate in the tournament, Nawa Aadarsha Community Development Society President Swagat Singh Bhandari said.

Those taking part include APF Club, Nepal Police Club, New Diamond Youth Sports Club and New Everest Volleyball Club Butwal, Manimukunda Volleyball Club Butwal, Galkot Sports Club Baglung and Gandaki.

The winner, and first and second runners-up of the volleyball competition will receive Rs 150,111, Rs 100,111 and Rs 50,111 respectively.

Inter-school level folk dance competition and inter-female group open Teej song competition are other attractions of the festival.
