The PhotoKTM festival began in the city on 24 Feb and will run through the month of March. This year’s festival hopes to spark discussions about the “non-human” world. Following this year’s theme is the natural world and its non-human beings which will be explored by more than 60 participants from 16 different countries across six venues in Lalitpur. Participants will be encouraged to pay attention, highlight “non-human entities” and re-learn histories. The festival this year invites participants to consider what role we can play in restoring voice and agency to the natural and non-human worlds, rebuilding relationships to land and place, learning new ways to pay attention, walk our questions and move towards a shared politics of mutualism, collaboration, justice and care.
