SHILPA MASKEY, ACTOR & SAKCHHI MASKEY, MAKEUP ARTISTE, CO-FOUNDER MAXIMALYSUM

What’s your favourite childhood sibling memory that never fails to bring a smile to your face?

Shilpa: Well there are countless memories but the first thing that comes to my mind is spending Saturdays with my sisters. Sakchhi and I used to watch cartoons and play with her Barbie doll house. I used to help Shradha with house chores, she was quite a strict older sister. I miss getting ready and going to school together with both.

Sakchhi: Shilpa making me a dollhouse and going to school together every day. And Shradha always buying me new art supplies and feeding me pizza.

What did you think your sibling would choose as a career?

Shilpa: Shradha has always been very creative, she used to do my makeup for my school dance performances. So, I knew she would be an artist or a fashion designer or a makeup artist. Sakchhi also knew how to handle money from a very young age, she always has been very ambitious and smart. She handled her Dashain money very well and I knew she would be very successful in whatever field she chose.

Sakchhi: I have always imagined Shilpa as an actor, and Shradha as a fashion designer

The most memorable adventure or misadventure you have had together

Shilpa: The memorable experience would be travelling during our school holidays. We used to travel a lot, only three of us because of our parent’s jobs. I don’t know how we managed it but it used to be fun.

A hidden talent about your sibling that not many people know about.

Shilpa: Sakchhi is really funny, she has this straight face but not many people know she’s the comedian of the house. Shradha’s hidden talent would be that she can cook really well.

Sakchhi: Shilpa is good at art and Shradha can cook and she is good in crafts.

An item on your bucket list with your siblings that you are determined to check off someday

Shilpa & Sakchhi: Travelling or going on a holiday together.

If your sibling could have a superpower, which one would they choose?

Shilpa: Shradha would have made multiple versions of herself to be everywhere and work more. Sakchhi would have chosen teleportation power as she loves to travel.

Sakchhi: For Shilpa, it would be telepathy and for Shradha, fast as flash so that she can finish every project because everyone wants her as a makeup artist.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Shilpa: Not to give up! I think being an actor, it’s very important to have patience with your work and sometimes we tend to give up easily. Our job needs constant self-motivation and perseverance.

Sakchhi: It’s to keep working harder no matter how far you have come.

Where do you see your sibling in five years?

Shilpa: Professionally I think Shradha will be more successful in her field creating her own brand value. Personally, I think she will be wiser and content and happy. Sakchhi will be a successful entrepreneur, she has ideas in different fields so whatever career path she chooses, she will make a mark. She will also be more mature and understanding.

Sakchhi: Both – in a happy place, full of life doing what they love in their careers as well as in their personal life.

What is your sibling’s major strength and weakness?

Shilpa: Shradha’s strength is that she can be friends with anyone, very helpful and giving. Her weakness is that she easily trusts people and not everyone is kind.

Sakchhi’s strength is that she is highly motivated and ambitious. Her weakness is handling stress.

Sakchhi: Shilpa is very consistent but she is too emotional. Shradha can work 24/7 but often is too kind to everyone.

Sunaina: I see my sibling happily settled with a loving partner and professionally I see him making a global impact.

What is your sibling’s major strength and weakness?

Parakram: Her major strength is her ability to love others so purely. Her weakness would be how affected she could be by the wrongs that take place around her. She gets really affected by it and I keep telling her to not let it affect her as much.

Sunaina: His strength is his one-pointed focus, commitment and positive approach in life. Also, you barely see him get into conflict with anyone. His weakness is his inability to sit still.

MAHIMA UDAY SUNDER SHRESTHA &
PRATHANA SHRESTHA FOUNDERS, STYLED BY MP, MP LUXURY BRIDAL AND EDEN

What’s your favourite childhood sibling memory that never fails to bring a smile to your face?

Mahima: It was the end of the day to pick up Prathana from her kindergarten school when she was about six years old. Like any other normal day, we went to pick her up at 2 pm in the afternoon. When we reached her school gate, the school looked quite empty and it felt quite odd. We went inside and to our surprise we found no other kids or teachers but only found the guard and some helper staff. And then we saw Prathana crying a mountain of tears; and when she saw us, she cried even more. We were shocked at why she was crying and why there were also no other kids. We asked the staff why there was no one around and why Prathana was crying. The staff replied, “Everyone already went home, it’s 4 pm already.” To our surprise, we realised that the clock at home was running slow and it was already 4 pm and not 2 pm.

Prathana: My favourite memory from our childhood would be when we used to have Hannah Montana karaoke sessions. The second would be when we were travelling and she was talking about not being messy while making food and how she is the tidiest cook, and immediately spilling a opened can of tuna on the hotel bed.

Mahima: Attending a Prabal Gurung talk show together and getting inspired and motivated by that event and then taking a risk to put our business on hold and heading out to Bombay to pursue Fashion Education and career is one of the biggest adventures we have embarked on in our lives together.

Prathana: I think it would be the time during Buddha Jayanti when she went missing for more than two hours at Boudhanath Stupa and everyone was panicking and it turned out that she was waiting for us on a bench all the while.

A hidden talent about your sibling that not many people know about

Mahima: She has great harmonising skills in singing. She even wrote and composed a song in her school days.

Mahima: To read people’s minds.

Prathana: To travel or fly anywhere she wants without having to worry about visa approvals or plane tickets.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Mahima: The best piece of advice would be: Don’t think about what others are going to tell you or think about you. Do not compromise. Do not settle for your dreams. You can never please everyone all the time.

I guess this is what keeps pushing and influencing me to keep doing what we do together in life and work.

Prathana: The best piece of advice would be to read Harry Potter as it has allowed me to broaden my imagination which has led us to this point of bringing imagination to life with ‘Styled by MP and MP Luxury Bridal’

Where do you see your sibling in five years?

Mahima: Having the best life manifested from the hard work she does. Professionally I see her getting a PhD degree as well as achieving great heights in a new venture that we will be starting soon.
