PAINT TO INSPIRE

An event organised by House of Palettes in association with Bombay Sapphire on July 9 had Chirang Bangdel, Jeni Nakarmi, Jugal Rajbhandari, Nagma Shrestha, Shristi Shrestha and Sumayal Vaidya teke to the canvas. Nagma and Shristi described their painting, “We wanted to embrace nature and show how as humans our roots are embedded in nature.” Inspired by Jaydeva a 12th century poet, Chirag was painting his first from what will be his upcoming series ‘Git Govinda.’ He described his creation as a celebration of love. Jugal Rajbhandari was spontaneously mixing and spreading colours on canvas oblivious to how it would turn out. He said, “I am letting my subconscious guide me. What I am trying to achieve from my art is freedom. I am letting my hands dance and have fun.”
