MARCHING TO A DIFFERENT BEAT – SHRISTI SINGH SHRESTHA

by wowmagazine

Shristi Singh Shrestha is an animal rights and environment rights activist. She believes that climate justice should be the main theme of all dialogues that inculcate human rights issues. She argues that any social movement is incomplete without the incorporation of environmental aspects. Thus, she works every day to create awareness towards establishing sustainable development practices. To know more about what makes the campaigner’s life beautiful, Anushka Shrestha from WOW catches up with her.

What are you currently working on…

I am associated with Animal Nepal and Jane Goodall Institute Nepal. Similarly, there are a number of campaigns I am involved in, and with my incredible team at People’s Alliance for Nature Nepal engaged in involving communities and youth to understand the issues that are faced by us and that will affect the next generation.

What do you love about your work…

I never feel that I am working. I am fuelled by the cause and the people around me with the same motivation and intention. Every day is new and full of possibilities. When things work out as intended, I become part of something amazing and long lasting; and that is a feeling no amount of money can buy.
