Ekata Pandey had always loved animals and from a young age she knew she wanted to be a vet. She majored in Veterinary Science from IAAS, Rampur Chitwan in 2016 and completed her externship in surgery an international training center in Ooty. Ekta moved to Kathmandu five years back as a qualified Veterinarian working as a surgeon and small animal clinician. Currently working at Vet For Your Pet, Chandol, Ekta is keen on making positive changes in society especially in the area of animal rights.
What do you love about your work
I love my job because everyone shares the same vision and is dedicated for the care of furry friends. Every case brings new challenges and I am continually learning. Even if I have a hectic day, the expressions of paws and wagging tails motivates me and makes me forget all my tiredness.

A person with good intention and without judgment makes me think that they are truly beautiful.

My passion for voiceless animals and working with the title of ‘Florence Nightingale of Dogs and Cats’. Also channelising this to inspire many girls out there.

When we have cats and dogs together during treatment, dogs need attention but cats are in their own world. Their weird behaviour as they come out of cage and showing off different flexible poses really makes me laugh.

Take slow, deep breaths, listen to soothing music, watch paws funny videos and plan for trekking as I love the Himalayas.

Solukhumbu. There are so many interesting places for tourism, trekking and hiking. People are really good with great hospitality. I have been there twice.
