On April 1, Kumari Bank and Kathmandu Badminton Association signed a five-year contract to organise a badminton tournament and run the academy. With the aim of creating the best badminton players in Nepal, the association has been providing professional training to various players. Organised at Hotel Royal Singhi, the five year deal included Kumari Bank’s contribution of Rs 1.5 million a year for the corporate tournament and Rs 500,000 for the academy. Manish Timalsina, the Deputy CEO of Kumari Bank said that as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, they decided to help the Academy in building professional badminton players in Nepal.
The Kumari Bank Kathmandu Team Championship will be held in June where 16 corporate houses will be participating.
