On its sixth anniversary, Doko shared glimpses of their journey among invitees that included the German Ambassador, Dr. Thomas Prinz along with Dr. Stephan Russek, DCM and Head of Development Cooperation and Economics, and other representatives of the German Embassy in Kathmandu at their Material Recovery Facility Site at Sano Thimi, Bhaktapur. The visit was intended to understand the dry waste collection system and observe the systematic operation of MRF. Doko Recyclers proposed an environmentally friendly waste management system for Reegaun, a rural village in Dhading district of Nepal, to tackle the issue of non-biodegradable waste like plastic leading to environmental degradation.
Doko also participated in WWF’s Earth Hour Nepal 2023 Sustainability Fair showcasing a range of eco-friendly products such as metal straws, bamboo toothbrushes, upcycled glass products, reusable cloth bags and totes, and more.
