COMO NEPAL WHERE STYLE MEETS LUXURY

by Ankita Jain

Como Nepal is a multi-label store much sought after for quintessential feminine style and grace. The store brings together a curated collection from Indian designers, veteran and new. It caters to the discerning fashionista with patterns and designs that are creative and appealing, especially elegant summer wear and dresses. If you’re scouting for a perfect special occasion outfit, this is definitely the place to head to.

The stylish and eclectic bungalow-like boutique defines luxury and glamour. Eishana Shah, CEO and Head of Fashion at Como Nepal prides herself on introducing this first of a kind store in the capital. COMO houses a beautiful collection of clothes and accessories from around 30 Indian designers including big names like Masaba Gupta, Varun Bahl, Abhishek Sharma and Sameer Madan. “We have 10-15 designs per designer,” states Eishana.

Eishana studied Fashion Management and Marketing in Milan and recalls the first conversation she had with her mother, Sheeba Shah regarding opening a concept store in Kathmandu. “People were travelling a lot and they wanted quality and design. It was the right opportunity, and I am glad I got it,” she shares. Eishana then got into talks with the designers who wanted to launch their collection in Nepal and eventually collaborated with Como Collective based in Goa.

It’s the ultimate shopping spot for those looking for something unique and quirky yet stylish. The clothes, accessories and lifestyle products are a great buy. “Many of the designs are lower in price in comparison to the Indian market,” Eishana claims.

With a shelf life of 45 days, Como Nepal stocks clothes and accessories for both men and women. “Menswear is our bestselling so far and we didn’t expect that. In the next season we are coming up with much wider range for men,” says Sheeba.

Curating pieces and labels that find space on the store’s shelves must obviously mean keeping a close eye on customer preferences. The mother-daughter duo agree that the first season is all about experimenting what sells and who buys. And also what trends can be brought into the picture.

Eishana is further trying to include a separate section for footwear and designer bridal wear. “There’s a lot in the pipeline. I am trying to understand the market here with each sale that we make,” she shares.
Sheeba further hints on bringing designer wear from renowned international Nepali designers within a time frame of a month.

Socialite Vidushi Rana is the store’s brand ambassador. “Vidushi is stylish and represents the brand well,” says Sheeba Shah, Head Curator of Studio Nilaya and major investor in Como Nepal.

With in-house stylist Eishana, Como Nepal also has plans to have a makeup studio on its premises. “We want people to find the multi label store as a one stop destination, where you can shop, get ready and move for any occasion,” highlights Sheeba.
