33 ARTISTS PAINT LIVE AT KGH

The Museum of Nepali Art held its first Annual Art Festival at Kathmandu Guest House Dream Garden, Thamel early this month. The art festival was inaugurated by noted Nepali actor Rajesh Hamal, who kick-started the event by painting his own contemporary piece ‘No smoking’ under the guidance of noted artists Kiran Manandhar and Lok Chitrakar. With an effort to bring Nepali art and artists into centre stage, MONA initiated a ‘live art congregation’ event. The event embraced live creations of 33 Nepali artists while serving a charitable cause. With the theme ‘Art for Hope’ the live artwork created were exhibited for sale to contribute and support children fighting cancer at oncology ward at Kanti Children’s Hospital Kathmandu. The art event also targeted as a promotional fare representing Nepal as an art destination.
